Essential Oils Can Kill Dust Mites!
I saw this on Pinterest, then on doTERRA’s blog the other day, so I decided to try it. I used baking soda, On Guard, eucalyptus and lavender oils to knock out those nasty dust mites. As usual, I added to the original recipe to make it my own. Since my little brother helped me make it, there may have been a little extra essential oil in there, but is smelled wonderful!
What You Will Need:
About 1/2 c. baking soda (for a twin size mattress)
5 drops of On Guard essential oil
3 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Place baking soda in a container or jar that has a lid. Add essential oils and place lid on container. Shake well. Carry baking soda mixture and strainer to mattress, and pour baking soda into strainer. Sprinkle over entire mattress. If necessary, use your hands to rub the baking soda around the mattress. After letting the baking soda mixture set on the mattress for 1 – 1 1/2 hrs., vacuum baking soda up off the mattress. My mattress smelled so good after I was done!
